Lots of exciting things have been happening in the Melbourne curly world! I attended my 1st curly haired meet up on Sunday over some coffee and cakes which was lovely. I always find it fascinating that every curly haired person I speak to has the same, or at least very similar stories about their life with curls. We all have the same problems and issues… frizzy hair, wrong products, hair with a life of it’s own, teasing, BAD hair cuts, brushing (eek) our curls and so on. Equally it was so good to hear the stories of how everyone’s life and hair has been turned around once they learnt more about their hair and how to finally manage it after going CG. All the ladies I met were rocking their curls – I’m sure we got plenty of glances from our fellow diners as we sat in our own private curly haired club that straight haired folks would just never understand. I’m also going to be teaching a Laneway Learning Class with my friend and curly hair hairdresser extraordinaire Neel called Eat Pray Curl. Exciting times – although I am pretty sure I may have a panic attack as public speaking is one of my biggest fears! The things I do all in the name of curls. The class is sold out now but I’ll keep you posted if/when another one is scheduled.
Anyway, it’s great to see a curly haired community forming in Australia and I’m excited to be a part of it. If you’re coming along to Laneway Learning I look forward to meeting you there! I also wanted to apologise for the lack of posts recently… I just started a new job after being made redundant before Christmas and it’s all been quite overwhelming and time consuming. Once I’ve settled in more I’ll get on top of it! Thanks for being patient.
