Welcome To Love Your Curls

Bus Card Front

Hello and welcome to Love Your Curls! My name is Lou and I’m the founder of Love Your Curls, a site dedicated to learning to accept, manage and ultimately love your curls.

I moved to Australia from Scotland and I often struggle to find information about dealing with curls in this huge and special country. I felt that Australians should have their own site where they could build a community, learn from each other and talk about the unique issues facing curly haired people in this country (Humidity! Dry hot desert winds! Weather that changes four times in a day… yes you Melbourne). However, that’s not to say we don’t welcome curlies from places other than Australia and anyone is free to join and be part of Love Your Curls.

I often get stopped by other curlies and asked about what products I use, what my hair routine is, what styling techniques I use and I genuinely love being able to help and share the information I’ve learned along the way. It just made sense therefore to build a site where Aussie curlies could learn from each others experiences and help each other to rock their curls.

The site is very easy to use – I’d suggest starting at the curl articles page and working your way through the content there. That has everything you need to know about getting started with your natural hair care routine. The forum is a place where you can connect with other curlies, ask questions and get advice on a whole range of topic. Lastly there is the blog where I’ll be posting on all sorts of curly topics regularly. You can subscribe by email or add LYC to your RSS feed so you never miss a post.

I wish I had known how to care for my curls earlier and had come to accept them when I was much younger. It’s a bit of a regret of mine… I wish there had been a resource like Love Your Curls when I was a teenager… So if you feel like your curls just don’t look like how they are supposed to, or that you can’t control them or “if only” your curls sat differently, or were less frizzy or didn’t spring that way or if you think you’ve got some amazing hints and tips that you want to share, then this is the site for you. Speak, share, learn and enjoy the journey.

Lou x

Hi everyone - I'm wondering if Devacurl Lo poo is worth the money and worth trying. My hair is so dry ATM and the definition is awful. The only time it looks good is when I put a deep conditioning treatment in then it goes back to dry the day after. I Lo poo as co washing doesn't work for me. ... See MoreSee Less
